Description

This Dried Tomato Bread combines sun-dried tomatoes and garlic for a flavorful loaf that’s perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1.5 cups Warm water (around 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 0.5 cup Fresh basil (chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar together in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Combine flour, salt, and olive oil in a large mixing bowl. Pour in activated yeast mixture, and mix until combined. Knead for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Incorporate sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese into the dough. Knead for an additional 3 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough gently. Shape it into a loaf and let it rise again for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Score the top of the loaf with a knife and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool the bread on a wire rack for 15 minutes before slicing.
