- 1 tbsp cornstarch (arrowroot powder is a suitable alternative)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 tsp salt (skipping it will lessen flavor)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (almond extract can be a delightful alternative)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and melted butter in a mixing bowl until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumble mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 baking pan.
- Layer sliced peaches and strawberries evenly over the crust.
- Mix brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, and water in a saucepan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
- Pour the prepared syrup evenly over the layered fruit.
- Top with the remaining crumble mixture.
- Bake for 35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- For extra crispness, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
