Description
This crockpot Salisbury steak is made with tender beef patties simmered in a rich, savory mushroom and onion gravy. It’s an easy, comforting slow cooker dinner that pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- ½ cup Italian style bread crumbs
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 4 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 ½ cups beef broth
- 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 oz beefy onion soup mix
Instructions
- Add the sliced onions, mushrooms, and garlic to the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the beef patties (leave out the oil), then form the mixture into 8 patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side. They don’t need to be fully cooked, just nicely browned. Transfer them to the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and beefy onion soup mix until smooth. Pour the mixture over the patties.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours, until the beef is cooked through and tender.
- Spoon the rich gravy over the patties before serving.
