  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • 2 cups cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and cut into bite-sized pieces. Toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear until golden and crispy on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Add broccoli, cover, and steam for 3 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return chicken to the pan and toss everything together until coated in sauce. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
