Description

This recipe for Creamy Seafood Stuffed Shells features tender jumbo pasta shells filled with a savory seafood mixture and coated in a rich, velvety cream sauce. It’s an impressive yet easy dish perfect for any dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (12 oz) jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, crab meat, scallops), chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook jumbo pasta shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped mixed seafood to the skillet. Cook until the seafood is opaque and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly. This is your creamy seafood filling.
  5. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom.
  6. Carefully stuff each cooked jumbo pasta shell with the creamy seafood filling. Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish over the marinara sauce.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the shells are heated through.
  11. Let the creamy seafood stuffed shells rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a quicker preparation, use pre-cooked shrimp.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference.
  • You can add other vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the seafood mixture.
