- 8 ounces Cavatelli Pasta (or fusilli or penne)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (or any cooking oil)
- 4 cloves Garlic (minced, always use fresh)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (or coconut cream for vegan)
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated, or nutritional yeast for dairy-free)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Basil (chopped, fresh flavor preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Calabrian Chili Paste (adjust to taste)

- to taste Extra Basil Leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil. Cook the cavatelli pasta for 3-5 minutes, or until al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until light golden, about 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to low, pour in the heavy cream, and stir to incorporate the garlic. Heat for 2-3 minutes until bubbly.
- Sprinkle in Parmesan cheese while stirring until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add fresh basil and Calabrian chili paste, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until basil wilts.
- Add the drained cavatelli to the skillet and toss gently, incorporating reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, stirring well.
- Simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve in pasta bowls, garnished with extra basil leaves or chili flakes if desired.
