Description
A simple and indulgent campfire dessert featuring ripe bananas stuffed with marshmallows and chocolate, wrapped in foil and cooked until gooey and melty. Perfect for camping trips or backyard gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped milk chocolate or chocolate chips
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans), shredded coconut, cinnamon
- Aluminum foil for wrapping
Instructions
- Use a sharp knife to slice each banana lengthwise, making sure not to cut all the way through to create a pocket.
- Gently pry open the slit and stuff with mini marshmallows and chopped chocolate pieces. Add nuts or berries if desired, but do not overfill.
- Wrap each stuffed banana tightly in aluminum foil, sealing all edges to prevent leaks.
- Place the wrapped banana boats on hot embers, grill, or in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Cook for 10-15 minutes, rotating occasionally for even heat.
- Carefully remove the foil packets using tongs or heat-resistant gloves. Open slowly to avoid steam burns. Serve warm.
