Description

Enjoy a quick and delicious cheesy bowtie pasta with garlic parmesan chicken, a perfect weeknight meal that’s ready in 30 minutes. This creamy dish features tender chicken and perfectly cooked pasta coated in a rich garlic parmesan sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz bowtie pasta
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb total)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta in well-salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente (about 9 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Gradually stir in the grated parmesan cheese, whisking constantly until smooth and melted. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until fully incorporated and the sauce is creamy.
  7. Add the drained bowtie pasta and sliced chicken to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining to help thin the sauce if needed.
  • Let the cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to ensure juiciness.
  • Sauté garlic over medium-low heat to prevent burning.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
