Description
Enjoy a quick and delicious cheesy bowtie pasta with garlic parmesan chicken, a perfect weeknight meal that’s ready in 30 minutes. This creamy dish features tender chicken and perfectly cooked pasta coated in a rich garlic parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz bowtie pasta
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb total)
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta in well-salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente (about 9 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually stir in the grated parmesan cheese, whisking constantly until smooth and melted. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until fully incorporated and the sauce is creamy.
- Add the drained bowtie pasta and sliced chicken to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining to help thin the sauce if needed.
- Let the cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to ensure juiciness.
- Sauté garlic over medium-low heat to prevent burning.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
