Description
This Cast Iron Skillet Pizza features a crispy, golden crust made from frozen bread dough, topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese, finished with fresh basil.

- 1 loaf Frozen Bread Dough
- 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil, for topping
Instructions
- Let Rhodes dough thaw according to package directions, preferably overnight in the fridge. Prepare all toppings ahead of time by slicing any vegetables, olives, and grating cheese.
- Place the cast iron skillet in the oven and preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C). Leave the skillet in the oven for about 20 minutes to get really hot. Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and drizzle the bottom with olive oil, spreading it evenly with a paper towel or brush.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a size a couple of inches larger than the skillet diameter. Transfer the dough carefully into the greased skillet, pressing it up the sides. If using multiple toppings, poke holes in the dough with a fork and bake the crust for 7 minutes before adding toppings; if using three or fewer toppings, proceed directly.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the pizza dough. Optionally, sprinkle Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or other herbs at this stage for additional flavor.
- Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices or your preferred toppings evenly over the cheese. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top.
- Place the skillet back in the oven and bake for 14-17 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let the pizza sit for a minute.
- Use a pancake turner to carefully lift the pizza out of the skillet onto a cutting board. Top with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve warm.
