- 1 ½ to 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup fresh orange juice
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 jalapeño finely minced
- ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 12 small corn tortillas
- 1 cup white onion finely diced
- 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 4 lime wedges
Instructions
- Whisk together lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and soy sauce.
- Marinate the steak for at least 1 hour, ideally 4–8 hours.
- Bring steak to room temperature for 20–30 minutes before cooking.
- Heat skillet or grill to high and lightly oil the surface.
- Cook steak 3–5 minutes per side until 130–145°F.
- Rest meat 5–10 minutes.
- Slice thinly against the grain and chop.
- Warm tortillas until soft.
- Assemble tacos with beef, onion, cilantro, and lime.
