Description
Cajun Honey Butter Salmon that’ll Spice Up Your Dinner!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound skinless salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing)
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning (the star of the dish)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper (freshly cracked)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter (adds richness)
- 6 cloves garlic (grated)
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth (adds moisture)
- 3.5 ounces frozen peas
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (brightens flavors)
- 3 tbsp honey (for sweetness)
- 3 tbsp chili oil (adds spicy flavor)
- chopped chives (for serving)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and cut them crosswise into two parts. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, Cajun, and Italian seasoning to taste. Drizzle with olive oil and set aside to marinate a bit.
- Grate the garlic cloves finely and set them aside. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and chili oil until well combined.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 3 tablespoons of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon pieces and sear for about 2 minutes on each side until beautifully golden.
- Reduce the skillet’s heat to medium-low and add the grated garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, then deglaze the skillet with the broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Toss in the frozen peas and cook them for 2 minutes until heated through. Return the salmon to the skillet and drizzle with the honey mixture. Simmer on low for 3 minutes, then sprinkle with lemon juice and chives.
