Description

This Cajun Air Fryer Turkey Tenderloins recipe offers a flavorful and juicy turkey dish with a spicy Cajun seasoning and a sweet honey glaze. Perfectly cooked in an air fryer or oven, the tenderloins are seasoned with a blend of paprika, garlic, and herbs, then finished with a rich buttery glaze. It’s a quick and delicious main course ideal for family meals or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Turkey breast tenderloins (1 lb each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (use 1/4 teaspoon for less spice)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter (can use vegan butter for dairy-free)
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar-free syrup of choice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or brown monk fruit sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum (for thickening)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water (alternative thickening agent)

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat the turkey breast tenderloins dry thoroughly using paper towels to ensure a good sear and adherence of the seasoning.
  2. Mix all Cajun seasoning ingredients in a small bowl. Brush the turkey tenderloins with olive oil on all sides, then generously season them with the Cajun spice mixture ensuring an even coating.
  3. Spray the air fryer basket with avocado or olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the seasoned turkey tenderloins in the basket and cook at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping once halfway through for even cooking.
  4. Use an instant-read meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the turkey. It is safe and done when it reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the turkey cooks, combine butter, chicken broth, honey, brown sugar (or sweetener), and coconut aminos (or Worcestershire sauce) in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir regularly as it heats.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 20 minutes until it thickens. If a thicker glaze is desired, stir in cornstarch dissolved in water and cook until thickened.
  7. Once cooked, remove the turkey tenderloins from the air fryer and allow them to rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. This lets the juices redistribute, keeping the meat moist.
  8. Slice the turkey tenderloins and drizzle with the prepared honey glaze. Garnish with fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the cayenne pepper to control spiciness.
  • Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
