- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 head green cabbage, chopped (about 6–8 cups)
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until meat is browned and onion is soft, about 6–8 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), broth, and chopped cabbage. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add uncooked rice, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Reduce heat to low, cover pot, and simmer for 20–25 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot in bowls.
