Savor Burger Bowls with Caramelized Onion Aioli Your Way

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds Ground Beef (80/20 blend for optimal flavor and juiciness)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (adds savory depth)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (ensures even seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (enhances overall savory notes)
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika (infuses delicious grilled flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (enhances all flavors)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper (for a slight kick)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (helps prevent sticking while cooking)
  • 2 large Yellow Onions (thinly sliced for sweetness)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (helps achieve rich caramelized onions)
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar (assists in caramelization)
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise (forms the creamy base)
  • 2 tablespoons Sour Cream (adds tanginess)
  • 1 Garlic Clove (minced for fresh flavor boost)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice (brightens up the aioli)
  • 6 cups Mixed Greens or Romaine Lettuce (provides a fresh base)
  • 2 large Tomatoes (diced or halved cherry tomatoes)
  • 1 large Cucumber (diced adds crunch)
  • 0.5 large Red Onion (thinly sliced for sharpness)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (for a creamy topping)
  • 0.5 cup Dill Pickle Slices (introduces tangy crunch)
  • 0.25 cup Fresh Chives (chopped for color and flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Add 2 large thinly sliced yellow onions along with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn a deep amber color and become jammy.
  2. While onions are caramelizing, combine 1½ pounds of ground beef with 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder and onion powder, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Once your onions are cool, transfer them to a food processor. Add ½ cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of sour cream, 1 minced garlic clove, and 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  4. Wash and chop 6 cups of mixed greens or romaine lettuce. Dice 2 large tomatoes and 1 large cucumber. Thinly slice ½ large red onion. Set aside.
  5. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Add the prepared ground beef mixture and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  6. To assemble, start with a base of greens, layer on the cooked beef, followed by diced vegetables, a dollop of aioli, and top with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped chives.
