Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha
  • 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 head green cabbage (finely shredded about 46 cups)
  • 2 carrots (peeled and grated about 1 cup)
  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 Tbsp neutral cooking oil (such as vegetable or canola oil)
  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef (or any ground meat of choice)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • Pinch of salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha (for extra spice)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  2. Shred the cabbage by cutting it in half, removing the core, and finely slicing one half into thin strips. Shred the carrots using a grater and slice the green onions. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cooking oil, ground beef, garlic, ginger, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook the beef until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage and carrots to the skillet. Stir and cook until the cabbage is slightly wilted, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared stir fry sauce into the skillet and stir in the green onions. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and extra sriracha if desired. Serve hot.
