Ultimate Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry That Will Wow Your Tastebuds

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g Sirloin/Striploin steaks (sliced for tender bites)
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Chinese Shaoxing wine
  • ½ tsp Baking soda
  • 3 tsp Corn flour (cornstarch)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic (roughly chopped)
  • 3 cm Ginger (finely sliced)
  • 4 large Dried red chillies (cut into small pieces)
  • 200 g Broccolini (sliced in half lengthways)
  • 2 Baby bok choy (halved)
  • 1 tbsp Chinese salted black beans (optional)
  • ¼ cup Oyster sauce
  • 3 tbsp Chinese Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • ½ tsp Dark soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1½ tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp White vinegar

Instructions

  1. Combine the steak slices with soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, baking soda, and corn flour in a bowl. Mix well and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by rinsing the Chinese salted black beans. Finely chop and mix with oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, ground black pepper, and white vinegar.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic, ginger, and dried red chilies. Stir-fry for 10 seconds until aromatic.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the pan, spreading the strips out. Sear for a minute, then stir-fry until brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Incorporate broccolini and stir-fry for a minute. Then add bok choy and stir-fry sauce, cooking until bok choy wilts and sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice for a complete meal.
