Description
Delightful truffles made with a mix of white chocolate, peppermint, and crushed Oreo cookies, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 12 ounces white chocolate, melted
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or a resealable plastic bag and a rolling pin.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese until well blended.
- Add the peppermint extract to the mixture and stir until evenly distributed.
- Shape the mixture into small balls and place them on a lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl either in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- Using a fork or a toothpick, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
- Place the coated truffles back on the baking sheet and sprinkle crushed candy canes or peppermint candies on top for a festive touch.
- Refrigerate the truffles for another 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate coating to set.
- Once the truffles are firm, they are ready to be enjoyed or gifted to friends and family. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
