- ½ tsp caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast
- In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
- Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter.
- Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Cook the Onions
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook slowly for 10–15 minutes until soft and lightly golden.
- Allow to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Creamy Topping
- In a bowl, mix sour cream, egg, salt, pepper, and caraway seeds if using.
