Description

  • 2 swordfish steaks (about 6 oz / 170g each), fresh or fully thawed if frozen
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley and thyme, finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons (60g) of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons (about 8g) finely chopped fresh herbs (parsley and thyme), 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil, and a pinch each of salt and pepper. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired. Whisk until combined.
  4. Pat the swordfish steaks dry with paper towels to help the marinade stick and promote browning.
  5. Brush each steak generously with the lemon herb butter marinade on all sides.
  6. Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 5-6 minutes.
  7. Flip the steaks carefully with tongs or a spatula, then cook for another 5-6 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Once out of the air fryer, immediately brush the steaks with any leftover marinade or fresh melted butter for an extra glossy finish and flavor boost.
  9. Serve with a wedge of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of extra herbs. Enjoy!
