Ingredients
Scale
- 2 swordfish steaks (about 6 oz / 170g each), fresh or fully thawed if frozen
- 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley and thyme, finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Melt 4 tablespoons (60g) of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lemon juice, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons (about 8g) finely chopped fresh herbs (parsley and thyme), 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil, and a pinch each of salt and pepper. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired. Whisk until combined.
- Pat the swordfish steaks dry with paper towels to help the marinade stick and promote browning.
- Brush each steak generously with the lemon herb butter marinade on all sides.
- Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 5-6 minutes.
- Flip the steaks carefully with tongs or a spatula, then cook for another 5-6 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once out of the air fryer, immediately brush the steaks with any leftover marinade or fresh melted butter for an extra glossy finish and flavor boost.
- Serve with a wedge of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of extra herbs. Enjoy!
