Homemade Make Ahead Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole

- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion optional
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Unroll crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the dish sealing seams.
- Cook breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned then drain excess grease.
- Spread cooked sausage evenly over the crescent base.
- Add onion and bell peppers if using.
- In a bowl whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour egg mixture evenly over the sausage layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese across the top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight for make ahead or proceed to baking.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
